Efficiency Through Automation
Our working relationship with you is information-driven; requisitions, changing orders, requesting prices, modifying patient information, etc. And over the years we have strived to simplify and perfect this flow of information to eliminate miscommunication and drastically reduce the time commitment on both sides. Emails can be overlooked, phone calls sometimes must be returned later but our Physicians’ Portal allows you to immediately, with a push of a button, place an electronic order, arrange for specimen pick-up, order supplies, request phlebotomy and more.

Through these online forms we are better able to track information, fulfill your requests in a timely and accurate manner and provide you with a record of your request.

Clinical Specialties

We provide services for every discipline.
Allergy

Our 3gAllergy is a third-generation, allergen-specific IgE assay, delivering fast and accurate results to help heighten the quality of care and level of service provided to the patient. The blood test’s advanced technology enhances both sensitivity and specificity. The correlation with clinical investigations (patient history, skin test, challenge oral tests) is high, and the specificity of certain allergens is excellent when compared to competitive offerings. Quest Diagnostics-Anderson Lab offers nearly 500 FDA-approved allergy tests and profiles, to identify the most common food and inhalant allergens seen in symptomatic adult and pediatric patients. Find out more about allergies and how one blood sample can help diagnose allergies earlier and aid allergy immunotherapy.

Autoimmune

Diagnosing rheumatic conditions can be challenging in the primary care setting. The signs and symptoms of rheumatic conditions, such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and scleroderma, are often non-specific and overlapping. Furthermore, lab interpretation can be confusing and time-consuming, often requiring multiple investigatory blood draws. Missing an early diagnosis can be devastating as rheumatic conditions can lead to serious organ damage when left untreated. Quest Diagnostics-Anderson Lab Staff are highly skilled and experienced in this field and employ the extremely thorough diagnostic process of applying Immunofluorescence and Immunoassay methodologies side by side to ensure the most accurate diagnosis.

Clinical Biochemistry

The Biochemistry & Immunology department at Quest Diagnostics-Anderson Lab provides qualitative and quantitative analysis of biological fluids such as blood, serum or plasma, urine, and tissues for specific chemical constituents or physiologic processes. Clinicians use these test results to screen for, diagnose or monitor disease.

The Department staff also continually add new diagnostic clinical laboratory tests to identify or monitor disease, disease processes, or treatment of disease. Quest Diagnostics-Anderson Lab differentiates itself from standard commercial laboratories by applying the reference and gold standard method to each analyte and thereby being a leader in the field.

Hematology

Clinicians may order both standard and specialty hematology testing through the Hematology Department at Quest Diagnostics-Anderson Lab. Standard consultative diagnostics include:

  • “reflex” analysis of blood smears and cytopathologic examination of body fluids
  • directed blood screening for parasites
  • laboratory evaluation of coagulopathies and hypercoagulability
  • identification of abnormal hemoglobins/thalassemia
  • cytochemistries on blood and bone marrow

Specialty testing consultative diagnostics include:

  • chronic granulomatous disease
  • hereditary spherocytosis
  • chronic lead poisoning
  • sickle cell disease.

Quest Diagnostics-Anderson Lab clinical pathologists are available Monday through Friday 8 am until 5 pm EST to render diagnoses and recommend appropriate testing for ordering clinicians.

Molecular

Quest Diagnostics-Anderson Lab features an expansive menu of tests that range from commercially available, moderately complex assays to esoteric and highly complex molecular diagnostic tests. With every test result, the professionals in the Molecular Diagnostics department are focused on delivering personalized, world-class service and total customer satisfaction.

The department is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation expertly utilized by a highly skilled team of molecular technologists and pathologists. Our molecular assays provide crucial diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic information to patients and clinicians, which are critical to making rapid diagnoses, selecting personalized therapies and ensuring best outcomes. Department experts perform tests on an array of clinical specimens (including blood, body fluids, biopsy tissue, and more) to detect DNA markers for infectious diseases, genetic diseases and cancer.

Serology

The Serology department at Quest Diagnostics-Anderson Lab analyzes blood serum to identify infections such as HIV, hepatitis and measles. A serology blood test is performed to detect and measure the levels of antibodies as a result of exposure to an antigen (such as bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites. When people are exposed to these antigens, their body’s immune system produces specific antibodies to defend against them. Antibody levels detected via an antibody titer test can help clinicians determine whether a person has a recent or current infection, may need a booster shot, could have an autoimmune disorder and even if an immunization will work as it should.

The Serology department’s expert staff analyzes specimens for blood-borne pathogens (including HIV and hepatitis) and all other infectious diseases of public health significance, the results of which are promptly reported to both the clinician and the appropriate state Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Department Staff utilize two methods of serologic testing, 1) Direct testing by which known antibodies are used to identify an unknown antigen, and 2) Indirect testing by which a known antigen is used to detect antibodies in an individual’s serum being made against a specific antigen. Quest Diagnostics-Anderson Lab offers Direct testing for Legionella and Leptospira and indirect testing of a variety of arbovirus, tick- borne, bacterial, fungal and viral diseases.
